Readers will love this pencil holder. All around are spines of classic books, and inside is a cup to be filled with pens, flowers, ideas, smiles, or anything you like. The books include Sense and Sensibility, Black Beauty, The Secret Garden. Jane Eyre, Little Women, and even Poirot Investigates.

The beautiful ceramic pot holds reminders of some of my favorite books from when I was growing up, and I love seeing it sit on my desk to add warmth and dignity. When I’m fighting a difficult deadline or just feel myself stuck when writing an email, I can look over and see the spines of my favorite books, and I feel calmer and more centered. Seeing these titles takes me back to some of my happiest memories.

Anne of Green Gables joins Wuthering Heights and The Velveteen Rabbit in adding class and loveliness to my desk, and it just makes me happy to see my pens (because that’s me) in among some of my favorite books.
