suet bird feeder

I have been wanting to upgrade my bird feeding area, so I thought this would be a great addition. I live in a place with seasons, and I wondered if I was doing enough for the birds once the cold weather hit. So I thought adding a suet feeder would be perfect.

This one is well made and easy to use. I bought a packet of suet and had no issues loading it up into the feeder and putting the feeder outside on a shepherd’s hook. I was hoping that it would attract birds and keep out the squirrels who keep getting into my other bird feeder.

I thought it was about to get cooler, but I was wrong. I went ahead and put out the suet feeder thinking fall was just around the corner. Instead, it stayed warm but only until we got hit by a run of extreme heat that is making us all miserable. Because of that, the birds haven’t been too excited about it yet, but eventually the temperatures will get cooler, and I think the birds will stay very happy this winter, and that will make me and my cat very happy this winter as we sit by the window and watch happy birds eat up.
