This hat is stacked with features. But first, the obvious: it’s a good-looking hat. It works well for gardening or walking outdoors, offering sun shade with panache. It’s also flexible, so it could be folded up small and tossed into a travel bag or beach bag. The top is almost mesh and there are several large vents, so it doesn’t get too hot on the top of my head. And there is an adjustable drawstring around the head, so I can tighten it, making it harder for the wind to lift it away.

The brim can be turned up if it’s not needed, or it can be worn down to deflect the direct sunlight. There is a chin strap that can help hold the hat on in wind or as a neck strap, to keep it around my neck when I head inside for a few minutes. Or the strap can be removed, if I decided i don’t want it. I will say that I ordered the blue, and mine is closer to a darker denim than the light blue I see here, but I don’t mind. I like the color.

I was looking for a simple bucket hat to use on walks in the evenings this summer. I was surprised at how well made and how well thought-out this hat is. This is a hat I will hold on to to use for years to come. I really think it will last and last.
