tartan table runner

I am a sucker for a tartan plaid. I love plaid shirts, plaid scarves, plaid blankets. And a table runner? So perfect. I love how a table runner adds a level of sophistication to the dinner table with so little effort. And the colors of this tartan—all that beautiful forest green—makes it perfect for Christmas but versatile enough for so many other events.

It came out of the package with those deep lines from being folded, which I was a little dismayed by as I hate to iron. I’m not even sure I still own an iron, I do it so infrequently. But I have left it for a couple of weeks under some books and a stack of junk mail I’ve been ignoring, and it already looks much better.

The plaid is printed on polyester, so it will be easy to clean. The color is mostly green, with some black and gold to create the plaid. It’s not the highest quality, but it is a good bargain, and I will use it many times to dress up the table for a dinner party or a holiday. It would also look good on a sideboard or a shelf, so it may find its way to our kitchen shelves, adding some color to the kitchen and some protection to the shelves. But for now, it’s for our dining room table, to add color and gravitas.
