bamboo toothpicks
The best thing about these toothpicks is the package they come in. I grew up with those little cheap cardboard boxes of toothpicks from the grocery store. We were not a family who used toothpicks to actually pick at your teeth. We used them for cooking, for testing to see if a cake was done or to spear a small bite of food on an appetizer tray. So as an adult, I just kept buying the toothpicks in the cheap cardboard boxes since that was what I’d always known.
These toothpicks are definitely a step up from those. They come in a round container, and there is a small hole in the top where you can pull out just one or toothpicks at a time. All the rest stay in the package, instead of living in a sad cardboard box that can’t keep its shape for more than a week or two. And these toothpicks are bamboo. I am a big fan of bamboo. It’s sturdy, it’s strong, and it’s sustainable. I may never go back to those sad grocery store toothpicks again. But now I do want cake.
