purple dress

This is such a fun dress. I love the purple, and the knit fabric makes it comfortable. There is elastic on the sleeves, so you can situate them where you like them. And there are even pockets. Pockets are the best. I love the rouching at the bust, and the way the fabric peaks under that center knot to flow down to the ruffle. My purple doesn’t seem quite as deep as the one in the photos here, but it’s still a beautiful color that makes me happy.

The one thing about the construction of the dress that gives me pause is a seam across the front of the dress, that goes across the bust from the sides to the tie knot in the middle. It strikes me as awkward and I wish they had found another way to get the fit right. I mean, I can throw a cardigan or a jacket over it, and no one would know the seam was there (it’s probably what I’ll do in the future), so I can work with that. I do love the color, and I do really like the flow of it overall. It’s comfortable but a little frilly, and it has pockets. I know I said that before, but that is a really important point. Pockets.
