pink doughnut pan

pink doughnut pan

I love doughnuts, and I have wanted to try baking them at home, so they’re not quite so bad for me. So I was excited to get this pan and try it out. For my first batch, I bought a doughnut mix of my favorite kind of doughnut, apple cider.

I didn’t use any baking spray or oil on the pan, just poured the dough right in. I did have to bake them longer than the recipe stated. I’m not sure if it was the size of the doughnuts or the pan (I do know that dark metal pans can bake things faster, so it might be this pan), but with the added time, the doughnuts turned out just fine. Delicious, actually.

To get the doughnuts out of the pan, I did run a toothpick around the middle, as it looked like the most likely place for it to stick. And then I tried to pop them out. I struggled a bit until I realized that if you put your hand underneath the pan and push on the doughnut in the spot most towards the inside of the pan (the furthest part of the doughnut from the edge of the pan), the doughnut will pop right out. When I tried to pop the doughnut out towards the edge of the pan, it wouldn’t all come out.

These pans are easy to clean, and the center of the doughnut can be pushed down so it stores pretty flat. And the pink color gives it a distinctive look.
