magic slushy maker

I love a frozen Coke, so I was excited to get this slushie maker cup. I washed it and put it in the freezer to get solid, and then I waited. The directions that come with the cup are not originally in English and not translated well, so they’re a little hard to understand, but the basics come across pretty well. You freeze the cup, put in your liquid of choice (I started with a root beer), and then you squeeze the cup until your drink is frozen.

At first, I thought it worked really well. It didn’t take long for the soda to freeze, and I was excited to give it a try. But the cup is still so cold that it keeps the slushie too cold to go up through the straw. You have to put it into another cup in order to make it drinkable. But once I transferred it and gave it a minute to soften up, it was delicious.

I will probably spend the summer experimenting with different drinks to see what’s best, but it will be such a nice treat on those superhot evenings. My first slushie may not have been a perfect experience, but once I got things figured out, it was a lot of fun.
