desktop shelf organizer

I wanted this shelf to add some extra shelf space next to my bed. I don’t have a nightstand. I have a bookcase there (yes, I’m that much of a book nerd). And I thought adding this small shelf will give me some extra shelves to organize my journal and some pens, cough drops and antacids, and tissues. Oh, and more books.

I love the size. It works perfectly for the space I have, so I’m very happy about that. However, I do have some issues with the construction. It goes together easily, just a handful of screws, and the package even includes a small screwdriver to use. But there are plastic parts that fit into the feet, and they are not trimmed well. And when I had it all put together, one side of one shelf was not even. They know about this issue and include adhesive pads to attach to help balance it. But that just felt a little disappointing.

That said, I will still use this shelf, and probably no one who sees the shelf in person will know about that one short leg. But I do wish a little more attention had been paid to the details.
