1. World Cup round of 16. The number of remaining teams is getting smaller, but there is so much good soccer going on. It’s just making me happy.

2. I finished watching the Drew Carey Show from start to finish. While the last few seasons had issues (the licensing fees were outrageous; you can ask reddit for more info), it was a good, solid show that featured working class people in the Midwest. And the core group who made it all the way through were the absolute heart of the show—Drew Carey, Ryan Stiles, Diedrich Bader, and the amazing Kathy Kinney. The way Drew and Mimi battled, before she married his brother and had a child, was epic. It was a very good show.

3. A four-day weekend. It’s going by too quickly, and I’m doing less than I expected, which makes me think that I needed this far more than I realized. Fortunately we’ve gotten everything printed at work for this round, so we have some quiet weeks coming. It’s summer, and let’s party! And by party I mean read books and go to bed early!
