1. I have spent two days binging Down Cemetery Road, the Apple TV show based on the Mick Herron novel of the same name. Mick Herron is the man who wrote the books Slow Horses is based on, and this series is also phenomenal. This one is about a private investigator in Oxford and a sharp art historian who help save a young girls after her house is blown up. The investigator is named Zoe Boehm, and she is played to perfection by Emma Thompson. I knew this story, as I listening to the audio book earlier this year, and this story is intense. In a way, this series is harder to watch than Slow Horses. But it’s so good. I did make the mistake of starting it too early, as the final episode doesn’t release until this Wednesday, so I have a feeling I’ll be watching that while my boyfriend watches AEW wrestling. One word of warning: the episodes end in major cliffhangers. If you want to stop an episode for a while or a day or whatever, don’t watch to the end. Pick a slower scene somewhere in the middle. If you make it to the end of the episode, you’ll have to start the next one.

2. We got several inches of snow last week I wasn’t completely prepared for that, but I wasn’t completely unprepared either. It was pretty, and the roads weren’t too bad. My car made it through without breaking down. I made it through without breaking down. And the snow melted away. I am thinking we will probably get more snow before this winter is over, but so far, it’s manageable. That made me happy, as I was worried about it.

3. This weekend, we put together our 2026 family calendar featuring photos of our cat DonDon, so I got to spend some time picking out my favorite pics of him this year. This one was definitely a favorite and features in the calendar and notebook. He is such a good cat, snuggly and snacky, and he brings so much joy to our lives. He has made me happy this week, and every week.
