1. We got the front yard cleared out of all the extra brush and weeks, and we got the bushes rimmed up really well. They moved my birdfeeder over a little, so it’s not so close to the bush, which is how the squirrels would steal the food. Now they’re having to get more creative, so they’re usually either hanging from the top or trying to stretch from the side. I saw a squirrel (we call them squeaky) try to go from the side, but his back paws kept sliding down the pole. I was amused. But I also refilled the bird feeder, so the birds and the squeakys and the chipmunk who lives out front can enjoy. Today I even had a quick chat with a neighbor who said she loves to watch the creatures scatter early in the morning when she’s walking her dogs out there. I set this up originally to be Cat TV for DonDon. But it’s entertainment for us all.

2. Last night was Summer Slam, and though we didn’t get to watch it in real time, it was fun. It’s nice to see the Judgment Day finally imploding. There were some belt changes. Drew and Punk went at each other with Seth as the ref in pants that belong in Studio 54. This year’s pay-per-views for WWE are a lot better than they had been. For several years, they felt stale, and the belts tended to stay with the champs who walked in with them. This is much better.

3. We were invited to a 25th wedding anniversary celebration for friends that my boyfriend knew since he was a teenager. They took me into the group back when I was first introduced to them about 10 years ago, and I really appreciated that. It was great to see whose who could make it to the party (some we hadn’t seen since before the pandemic), and it was fun to see pictures of my boyfriend all dressed up as a last-minute groomsman.
