1. Farm to Market bread. Here in KC, we have a bread bakery who stocks a lot of their most popular breads in local grocery stores. We love their Italian loaf with spaghetti. We were going to have spaghetti for dinner tonight, but we didn’t see any Italian bread at the store. But I had one stashed in the freezer for just such emergencies, and once it was defrosted, it was just as delicious as it is fresh. That made the meal.

2. Yesterday I met a friend for a mid-morning snack and crochet time. We went to a local coffee shop, Brew Haha, where I got an Alpine berry iced tea and a savory crepe filled with scrambled eggs, bacon, and cheese. It was delicious. And we got to sit together and talk and play with yarn for a couple of hours, which is something we haven’t done in a long time.

3. Old school Iron Chef. We found episodes of the original Iron Chef, from the early to mid 1990s, and they are amazing. From the Chairman’s puffy shirt game (which is very strong) to seeing a young Morimoto competing, it’s just all sorts of fun. If you have Peacock, all that is at your fingertips too. Allez Cuisine!
