1. We have had to take on extra work at work this round, adding more trucks to 3 of our catalogs. We have added more trucks like this before, but never 3 in one round. In other words, it was a lot of extra work. But we are almost done with the third, so I have a few weeks to breathe before things get super busy again. Things should be far less stressful until at least after Labor Day. I am very much looking forward to catching my breath over these next few weeks.
2. I renewed my car tags today. I got to sit at home on a Sunday afternoon and put some numbers into my computer and complete one of the things I hate most to accomplish. I didn’t have to go anywhere. I didn’t have to take time off work. I didn’t have to fill out a bunch of paperwork and wait for an hour for my number to be called and deal with an exhausted employee of the DMV. I spent a few minutes with a lovely bot, verified my car and my personal information and my insurance policy, and then I made a payment, and they will send me a shiny new sticker for my car. Technology is magic!
3. It is starting to feel like summer is winding down. The temperatures are coming down a tiny bit, and I feel that twinge that I’ve always thought is as wanting to go back to school. But if’s like wanting to go back to fifth grade, not wanting to go back to college. But this is not me wishing to find myself in some weird body-switching movie where I’m suddenly 11 again or anything. Just a twinge of nostalgia that would pass as soon as someone reminded me that they can make me eat vegetables I don’t like. But my point is, summer is ending soon and it will be autumn, with the crunchy leaves and moderate temperatures and apple cider and pumpkin carving and Halloween candy. I am so ready!
