1. It’s summer, and that means peach pie. We got a peach pie at the store today, and it is delicious! It’s the taste of summer, with a flaky crust. So much happiness!
2. We spend a chunk of time yesterday binging the new Iron Chef on Netflix, and it was so much fun! I love Alton Brown and the chairman, always, but I also really appreciated Kristen Kish and the new Iron Chefs. If you’re a fan of Food Network’s Iron Chef America, I think you’ll really like this reboot. And if you never saw the show on Food Network, but you love a chef competition, then you should check it out. Just getting to watch Dominique Crenn cook while she dances around and sings is such a joy. My only complaint is: now that we binged that entire season, I have to wait until the next one comes out. And I want to watch it now!
3. Sometimes you have to go to the soccer, and sometimes the soccer comes to you. Kansas City has been awarded some of the World Cup games in 2026, and the city is excited! Some of our upgrades area already in progress (the airport, which was badly in need of some work) and some are still to come (Arrowhead stadium). But we are in. The world of soccer will be here, in my home town! Woot!
