1. Air conditioning. We are unseasonably hot here (in the 90s) lately, so I am so grateful for air conditioning! It’s the best, amiright?
2. A peaceful weekend. Late last week, the violence in the local protests died off, in part because our mayor stepped up and made good faith promises for change here in Kansas City. I don’t have a problem with people wanting to be heard, but when that includes destruction of property, businesses having to close, and tear gas, I’m not okay with that. I’m glad those days have passed around here. I hope we can move on, with more compassion, understanding, and communication.
3. The world is continuing to open up, so soon I will get to enjoy my Premier League and MLS, which makes me happy since the Bundesliga is already starting to wind down for the season. I think there’s only four more weeks. Four more amazing weeks of German soccer, followed by a bunch of young men with very large beer steins drinking and pouring it on each other. But I think I’ll have other soccer by then, and after that, the next season of Bundesliga. #soccernerd
