1. Wow, what a difference a week makes! As of yesterday, Kansas City will be closing as of Monday at midnight. Everything non-essential is closing down for 30 days. I’m a little surprised but not unhappy. I just hope it helps. Our medical community is already spread thin. We are out of tests last I heard. I have friends who are down with the virus. They are at home, not needing hospitalization, but they’re miserable. What makes me happy about all this is that we will survive. We will be okay. And if we’re smart, we’ll be better people. We’ll take better care of ourselves, those we love, and the planet. Hope helps.

2. Not gonna lie, my anxiety and sense of hopelessness has been trying to get at me lately. So yesterday, we spend the day rewatching a season of Great British Baking Show. The tent is just such a peaceful, soothing place that I had a hard time being anxious anymore after about half the season. There is no better medicine than GBBS and a sleeping cat nearby!

3. I’ve been spending a lot of time lately thinking about my family of origin, most of whom are not in my life these days. My family now is my boyfriend and our amazing cat DonDon, and my mother and my boyfriend’s mother. I am so lucky to have this family, the one with lots of love and laughter. I am so grateful to have these people (and cat) in my life. This is love.
