Welp, I am reading. I am reading The Silent Appeal. I’m not rushing it, which is maybe a mistake because there is a trail of tiny crumbs hidden in there that I am worried I will miss. But this way, I get to savor the journey and just go along for the ride. I love Janice Hallet books!

I’m also reading Ten Perfect Guests, a chilling story of an artist who dies and brings together ten people who influenced his life. These people—among them, his ex-wife, a former art critic, and the daughter no one knew about—to an island hotel. They are left alone on the island for the weekend, and it seems like at the end, they will find out how is fortune will be divided up. I’m guessing that it will go to whoever is still alive, since it’s not looking good for some of these folks. I love a play on an Agatha Christie, and I’m thinking soon there might be none, if you know what I mean.

This will be another busy week at work, but I am feeling less chaotic about life lately. Maybe it’s because I found my emotional support fries that had fallen behind the sofa? Or maybe it’s just a better head space, which I definitely needed. Plus it’s getting cooler, and I am ready to spend some cold days on my sofa with a pile of books and a soft blanket.
