Each week I come here with the best of intentions, and then things get complicated. This week got very complicated with medical issues and car issues and work deadlines and so. much. anxiety! But I’m doing better. That being said, work will still be crazy for a couple of weeks, so I will do my best, but I am not guaranteeing anything, lol.

currently reading: I've started reading Idle in Provence, and it’s fantastic. His writing is sharp and descriptive and funny, and hearing about his time in Provence is amazing. I love this book. It’s out this September, so watch for it this fall.

I’m also reading Death on the Lanai, the Golden Girls mystery follow-up to Murder by Cheesecake, which was just as fun as it sounds. But also, cheesecake sounds good. This is another fun cozy!

And I’m listening to The Break-Up Retreat by Camilla Sten, and it is bonkers. A journalist signs up for a mysterious retreat for women getting over break-ups lead by a charismatic psychologist. There have been complaints and even a woman who disappeared, and Isobel wants to find out all the tea. But she’s undercover, on her own, and worried that someone there knows why she’s there. But how far will they go to stop her reporting on what happens there?

up next: Sex on Murder Island, the follow-up to last year’s Murder on Sex Island, which was a hoot. Also, if you’re into the World Cup and into rom coms (that’s so me!), then watch for Abby Offsides, out later this month.
