I am doing a really bad job at reviewing the cookbooks I’m behind on. Maybe this will be my week?
currently reading: I’m also reading Definitely Maybe Not a Detective, which is so much fun. Emersyn is trying to raise her niece after her brother’s death, but she doesn’t have a job. She did have some money in savings, but her boyfriend stole it and left her. So her best friend made up business cards for a detective agency, so Emersyn could give him one and put the fear of God in him. But when other people get ahold of the business cards and try to hire her, or try to get hired by her, hijinks ensue. If you like a slightly wacky murder mystery, then you should check this one out.
I haven’t finished any books this week, so I’m still reading all the things I have been. And watch for a new Maria Semple book out this week, Go Gentle. If you were a fan of Where’d You Go, Bernadette, then look for her new one in stores this week. (Is anyone else bothered by the lack of a question mark on that book title? Loved the book, but it needs a question mark.)
And I got this lovely from Henry Holt. The Responsible Party is a “rollicking, hilarious debut novel about a family of unforgettable women obsessed with securing their legacy.” I love a humorous novel, so I am excited about this one. Look for it on store shelves in August.
