just finished: Murder in the Upper Crust, the latest deep dish mystery. This one is about a murder at a meditation retreat, and Delilah and Capone are trying to figure out what happened. It’s a lot of fun.

currently reading: I’m so close to being done with My Manager Is So Stupid, which has taken a crazy turn. This charming book about a woman working as a bookseller in Japan is fun and sweet, and I can’t wait to find out the ending.

I’m also reading See You Next Tuesday, a rom com about a couple of political workers. I started it several weeks ago, but the real-life elections have been so cutthroat that I needed a break from the politics, so I set it aside. I need to get back to it because the characters are so much fun. This may be the antidote to the current political morass we find our selves in.

And I’m listening to My Inner Child Wants to Kill, the follow-up to Murder Mindfully. These books are bonkers. There is the mindfulness, and then there are the gangsters and the murder. If you like a dark mystery, then check these books out.

This coming week is crazy too. New John Scalzi, new Julia Cameron, new Dame Judi Dench. There is something for everyone, and for everyone to wrap up and give for the holidays.

I had started the new cookie book from Joanne Chang, but I hadn’t had a chance to write up my review yet. But I started talking about starting now to make cookies for Christmas, a different batch each week, and stashing a bunch in the freezer for the holiday, and my sweet boyfriend went to a large online retailer of books and other things and ordered this gem for me. It’s fantastic! If you love to bake cookies, or you know someone else who does, please take a look at this book and consider buying a copy of your own. It’s so good.
