just finished: Home for the Homicides. It’s like a Hallmark Christmas movie, except there’s a murder and a lot of dark humor. I loved it.
currently reading: I’m still reading My Manager Is So Stupid, which is lots of fun. I’m listening to My Inner Child Wants to Kill, when I remember, because I have the brain fog pretty bad these days. And I’m reading And Then There Were Bun, the latest Vivien Chen cozy mystery.
But this week is about cookbooks. Ayesha Nurdjaja’s new cookbook comes out Tuesday, and Boston’s Joanne Chang has The Joy of Cookies coming out the same day. It’s time for some holiday wish-listing.
As it’s October, I’ve also started reading my fall classic re-read, Jennifer, Hecate, Macbeth, William McKinley, and Me, Elizabeth by E.L. Konigsburg. I love this book of friendship and witchiness, and I get a hankering to re-read it every fall.
Then there’s this beauty, Receipts from the Bookshop, a Goodreads win from William Morrow. It’s the daily thoughts of a bookseller in a small family-owned shop on the English seaside. There are so many things about that sentence that makes me smile. I can’t wait to carve out some time to read it.
