just finished: Julie Chen Is Dead. It is so good, and that ending was insane!

currently reading: I am reading the new Janice Halliet, a Killer Question. It’s so good. No one tells a story without any traditional storytelling like her. This one is about a man found murdered behind a pub. The pub is known for its weekly pub quiz, and other local pubs have been having issues with a team that had been going from pub to pub and winning the quiz, upsetting the usual pub teams. But when the leader of the rogue team is found dead, it will take a sharp reader to figure out what’s really going on.

As usual, Halliet uses anything but typical prose to tell her story. This is told by a group chat between the local pubs as well as texts between team members, and quiz sheets showing the topics, the teams and their final scores. For me, Halliet’s novels need two readings, one to get to the answer, and another to see the how she made the magic in the first place. I love her books so much, and this one is no exception. I plan on enjoying this one all week long.

up next: there are a lot of cookbooks coming for the holidays, and this week I have several to talk about, including Something Delicious, from internet creator Lindsay Eats.

in the coming weeks, get your Christmas tree lights untangled and your Santa Hats ready. It’s time for those funny and heart-warming Christmas stories.
