Finally, it was a calmer week, and I was able to review 5 books again, I missed that. It’s good for me, since reading calms my crazy mind, so it’s good to get that much reading done.

Plus this weekend was pretty calm, so I finally got to finish The Influencers (so good!) and listened to a big chunk of Down Cemetery Road. If you’re a fan of Mick Herron, a fan of his Slough House series or the television show Slow Horses based on it, then I highly recommend this one if you’re note familiar with this series. It’s not MI5, but I think there is some overlap. This one is set in Oxford, and this audio book has a lovely introduction written by Emma Thompson. I am enjoying this books so much, and I can’t wait to see how it all comes together.

up next: watching soccer, since the Premier League season is back on. Bookwise, there are some good mysteries and thrillers coming soon, but I am also hoping to talk cookbooks soon, as they will be hitting stores soon for holiday presents. New Dorie Greenspan, new Samin Nosrat (she wrote Salt, Fat, Acid, Heat), new Lydia Bastianich, and first cookbooks from Food Network stars Joe Sasto and Christian Petroni.
