Wow, I did not get much done last week. It’s not a secret I’ve been struggling. I did finish another book last week and wanted to get it written up, but it was such a struggle, I thought it might be smarter to take a few days. So I did that. I took a breath, shook it off, and I’m ready to take a run at another week. I may not hit my 5 this week, because we’re having the basement waterproofed soon and we still have some things to get pulled up from the basement. So for now, the house is the priority and not the books (sacrilege!), but that is temporary.
recently finished: a ya rom com from Jenny Howe about a theme park superfan who gets the chance to enter a scavenger hunt where the winner gets a life-changing amount of money. It’s called Love at Full Tilt, and it’s adorable.
so-close to being finished I spent the weekend in a cult. Well, listening to a book about a cult. The Goldens is a delicious girl-cult book, and I have had so much fun listening to it. I only have about an hour left, but I have stuff to do, so I will finish it first thing tomorrow. So looking forward to that.
currently reading: I’m still working my way slowly through The Influencers. It’s a lot of fun. And I have started reading If You Love It, Let It Kill You, about a woman whose ex-husband has written a novel about her where he kills her character off. It’s lovely, the type of literary fiction I wish I could write, and I can’t wait to see where the story goes.
up next: so let’s talk about how amazing August is going to be. New Emma Lord. New Lisa Gardner (Frankie Elkins is back!). And a lot of fun mysteries, including new Donna Andrews, which you know I am so excited for, for duck’s sake!
