currently reading: out this week, and you know you’ve been waiting for this one: Murder by Cheesecake. Yes, it’s a Golden Girls cozy mystery. Rose is trying to create a traditional St. Olaf wedding in Miami for her cousin. Blanche and Sophia are trying to help her, and Dorothy was trying to find a date for her wedding. She thinks she finds the perfect guy, but when they meet up in person, he disappears on her. But he shows up at the pre-wedding tea, dead in the hotel freezer, his face in one of the cheesecakes Rose made especially for the occasion. He had a piece of paper in his pocket with Dorothy’s name and the time and restaurant for their date, so she becomes the police’s prime suspect. So how many more cheesecakes will the girls need to solve the murder? This one is just as fun as it sounds. Fans of The Golden Girls will want to check this one out, for sure.

up next: I got an early copy of an upcoming mystery that I am very excited about. It’s called Big Bad Wool, and it’s about a group of sheep who solve crimes. In their first book (Three Bags Full), they figure out who killed their shepherd. In this one, they move to a new location and find out about a spate of animals going missing. The locals are thinking it’s a werewolf. It will be up to the sheep to figure out the truth. And before you can ask, yes, they are making a movie of the crime-solving sheep, starring Hugh Jackman and Emma Thompson. Can’t wait!
