just finished: Harriet the Spy. I’ve been wanting to revisit this one for quite a while, and it was such a fun trip. I didn’t even realize that a modern writer has created more stories in the Harriet universe. But I still have a couple of the original Louise Fitzhugh books left to read first. I had so much fun going back to Harriet’s world. She was a little odd, and as a kid, I was a little odd, so I really resonated with her. I can’t wait to read The Long Secret and Sport again.

currently reading: Her Knight at the Museum, a rom com about an art restorer who finds that the statue she’s supposed to be restoring is actually a knight from the 1400s who had been put under a spell. She wakes him up with a kiss, but she has to figure out how to teach a knight how to survive modern life. And she has to figure out what to tell the museum.

I’m also reading The Jewel of the Isle, a rom com about an ER doctor who has a plan to go to a remote island to release her father’s ashes. It was a place he’d always wanted to visit. But her boyfriend dumps her two weeks before she’s supposed to go, and he was the one who knew all the survival skills that she would need. She’s forced to hire a guide to take her, but as it turns out, he doesn’t know all that many survival skills himself. He had run a travel company with his brother, and he had been the one with the wilderness experience. This one should be lots of fun.

I’ve also started A Legend in the Baking, another football/cupcake bakery cookbook in the universe of Fake It Till You Bake It. This one is about another one of the football players turned bakery owners, but it should be just as fun and spicy as the first one.

up next: turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy, and pie. Happy Thanksgiving!
