snapshot 2.5

welp, last week did not go as planned. I started feeling bad at the end of the week, and honestly, I’m still not great here on Sunday night. I will try to talk books this week, but I might feel the need to take the week off and reset. I think I just ran myself down so completely last year that I am still recovering. And the weather is not doing any favors for my sinuses, either. So we’ll see.

just finished: The Secret Diary of Adrian Mole, Age 13 3/4. Again.

currently reading: I’m reading the rom com Behind the Scenes, about a super-competent business woman who decides to help an artsy independent filmmaker try to get back in the business. It’s a sweet and quirky queer romance with some interesting surprises. I’ve also started reading Just My Type, by the woman who brought us last year’s Lease on Love, which I loved. In this one, a magazine writer known for having trouble being alone gets dumped, and before she can find herself another relationship to jump into, her editor tasks her with writing about being single. And her ex starts to work there too. I’m not too far in yet, but it’s going to be lots of fun.

up next: also out this week is the new Hank Phillippi Ryan, The House Guest. You know that one’s going to be good too! And the new Werner and Korner, from Katrine Engberg. This is her fourth in the series that started with The Tenant. These are beautiful police procedurals from Scandinavia, and I can’t wait to see what happens this book.

And then next week is the new Hamish Macbeth, Death of a Traitor, which I am really looking forward to. The week after that is the much anticipated The Writing Retreat (seriously, I see everyone talking about it) and Best Served hot, where I will be taking part in my first ever blog tour.

Also, Sourcebooks Kids offered me a free copy of this one, and I love a middle grade book with humor and adventure. So I am looking forward to reading it!
