super super fun
When the new prison warden at the maximum security prison took over, things had to change for Doctor Malevolent. He’d been spending his time in his cell following his passion, floriculture. But warden Magpie LASTNAME has an allergy to pollen. SO all his beautiful plants had to go.
That’s when Doctor Malevolent decided to escape. With the help of Boris the Spider, he made a balloon out of a bed sheet, a laundry basket, and some gum, and flew away.
And when that happened, there was only one hero they could call on—Super Potato. Although after his last assignment, he’d gotten extra buff, so now he’s Super Super Potato. And now he’s super super on the job.
He starts by scanning the city day and night, but he doesn’t see Doctor Malevolent. So he decides to try the Laughing Skull Club, a known hangout for the bad guys. Super Potato doesn’t find the Doctor, but he does find Boris the Spider. After an intricate fight, Boris tries to buy his escape by telling Super Potato is in an abandoned manor near the sinister old woods. SP takes Boris back to the police station despite his help.
But now, Super Potato knows where to look for Doctor Malevolent. He finds the sinister old woods, and then the abandoned manor, and then he hears music coming from the greenhouse. And that’s where he finds Doctor Malevolent . . . and Gladys. Gladys is a giant carnivorous plant who is soothed by music. But once the music stops, then she gets nervous. And when she gets nervous, she wants to eat.
Will Super Potato be able to get away from Gladys and bring the Doctor to justice, or will be become a tasty potato snack for a giant superhero-eating plant?

I really loved Super Potato and the Greenhouse of Evil. While the story was pretty simple, the journey of the book is so much more. Seeing the bright colors in the art, reading about these big personalities, and knowing that good will win out made me so happy. Reading this book just made me happy, and what more could you ask for?
