just finished: nothing. It’s been one of those weeks, in one of those months, in one of those years. I am expecting this to continue for a bit, so I’m giving myself a break and cutting back to 4 reviews a week. Or the way things have been lately, continuing to only do 4 reviews a week. But I am hoping to get through some audio books this month, and maybe into January, to help.

currently reading: I’m still reading Hello, Transcriber, and it’s crazy. It’s dark and atmospheric, and I am loving it all. Can’t wait to finish! I’m also reading The Ballerinas, a fiction debut for Rachel Kapelke-Dale, and it’s about friendship in the cut-throat world of ballet in Paris. Ballet is a small world anyway, but when you’re talking about the top ballerinas in Paris, then that world gets miniscule and bitingly competitive. I’ve dunked my feet in, but I look forward to swimming all the way through it and seeing just how tough it gets.

up next: It’s time for the next Fixer Upper Mystery from Kate Carlisle. Absence of Mallets (great title, maybe my favorite cozy title since Donna Andrews’ Gone Gull) is another tale of Shannon Hammer restoring Victorian houses and solving murders. It’s out Tuesday, so watch for it! Also, I picked this one up used, but it just won the Comedy Women in Print Prize in the U.K., their only award for humorous writing for women, so while it’s been on my Want list for several months now, I decided I wanted it sooner. I can’t wait to carve out some time to finally read it!
