just finished: The new Gilly Macmillan, To Tell You the Truth. It’s amazing! It comes out Tuesday, and if you need a distraction from everything going on in the world right now, snag it when it hits bookstore shelves. I was sucked in from chapter one and could barely put it down until I got to the end. It’s about a writer whose main character is her longtime imaginary friend, and as she becomes more exhausted and stressed trying to finish a book, has more and more trouble discerning reality from her imagination. Her character becomes real to her. Loved this premise!
currently reading: I’m still reading Eat a Peach, chef memoir by David Chang. I’m enjoying it. It’s just one of those months where life has seriously interrupted my reading time (how dare it!). And Three Single Wives, which is a fantastic story about three women whose lives intertwine and end up with one husband dead. I really need to find the time to finish it, to see what happened! There is so much drama!
up next: The Talented Miss Farwell, a twisty take on The Talented Mr. Ripley. I love Ripley—anything by Patricia Highsmith, and I’m on board—so I’m really looking forward to this one! And then, after all these thrillers, I may have to find something a little bit lighter to read for a change!
