just finished: Nothing yet, but I’m hoping that by the end of the day I’ll be finished with my latest cozy read, A Fatal Fiction. It’s the third in the Deadly Edits mysteries (the second one was Clause and Effect, which I liked a lot). This one is fun too, with a local shady businessman getting killed just hours hours after deadly editor herself Mikki Lincoln yells at him at the gas station. Someone caught that on their phone and uploaded it to the internet, making Mikki a target of the police investigation. I don’t know yet who killed him, but there does seem to be a long list of people who aren’t all that upset about it.

currently reading: I’m also reading Michele Campbell’s The Wife Who Knew Too Much. She did the thing where she starts at the end, so I know what ends up happening, but I don’t yet know how the characters got to that point or what the eventual fallout is. But I’m hooked. I mean, the very first thing i the book is a letter from the wife saying that if she’s dead, her husband killed her. How can you not go all in?

up next: After a stellar week of new releases this week, next week is . . . yet another week of stellar new releases! New Donna Andrews (my all-time favorite cozy author)! New Hank Phillippi Ryan (which means her last book The Murder List is now in paperback)! And a new thriller from Megan Goldin, who brought us last year’s The Escape Room (loved it!). And that’s just the start of my list. I have some really good books to read. I feel so lucky! (hashtag blessed, or something that doesn’t sound quite so pretentious)
