cats for kids

I’ll be honest here. I’m having a bad day. There are things going on in the world that are stressful, and my anxiety is up. So when I sat down and read This Cat Loves That, it was so charming and adorable that it helped me feel better.

Technically it’s for kids. It rhymes in a soothing way, and it will help teach youngsters about the things that make cats great. They push things off of tables, they chase laser lights, they like to climb into boxes, and they nap in strange places. It’s a fantastic book for teaching kids the basics of cat ownership and to help them think about what helps make them happy or not.

Almost every page has at least one photo of an adorable cat, offering many chances for smiles and giggles. The photos are filled with adorable cat energy and whimsy, and the text adds a lot of information in a fun way that kids will understand.

But really, I think this is a book for stressed-out, anxious, sad, and frustrated adults. It’s a sort of offline version of cat videos, and I think we all need that sort of thing from time to time.

So please buy This Cat Loves That for the kids in your life. But know that you’re giving a gift to their parents too. Because every time they have to (get to) read this to their kids, they’ll get to feel better about the world too.

Egalleys for This Cat Loves That were provided by Rockridge Press through the Callisto Media Publisher’s Club, with many thanks.
