what do cats do all day?

I know that cats sleep all day, but why? What makes them so tired? Now there are answers.

Lisa Swerling and Ralph Lazar did the research, and they share it all with us in Box Inspector and Other Important Jobs for Cats. With adorable illustrations, they show us all the many and varied tasks that cats do for us, all day, every day: Sunbeam Analyst, Box Shredder, Pest Control, Food Critic, Ghost Spotter, Ninja, and Head of Toilet Paper Operations, just to name a few.

They also answer the question of what the humans are good for, and I feel like they make a good argument for us getting to be in cats’ lives. We can be a Waiter, Ladder, Body Pillow, Landing Pad, and Doorman. And then they go on to look at all the questions that cats ask (surprisingly, many of them are about being fed) as well as the age-old question: are cats aliens?

Charming and heart-warming, Box Inspector is a delightful gift for cat lovers of all ages (I should know—this was a gift for me from my mother, who knows I love cats). It will bring a smile to the face of humans and cats alike, and it’s loads of fun, kind of like a big bag of ping pong balls that you can chase around the floor or a really good piece of yarn or a brand new toilet paper roll, just begging to be unwound.

Oh, and cats like it too.
