Agatha Raisin is back, and is making news. Called in to investigate possible corporate espionage, Agatha and her associates immediately stat to make sense of what’s happening in the local battery factory, to make sure that the plans for these new batteries for electric cars stay secret. She is excited to get started, even when that just means checking over HR records and interviewing employees. But as the days go by, and things don’t seem to add up at the factory, Agatha starts to dig for real.

When one of the employees, a woman who had a habit of recording conversations, was killed by an errant donkey kick, Agatha can’t help but step in. Certain that the donkey had nothing to do with the woman’s death, she makes saving the donkey Wizz-Wazz her mission.

Meanwhile, some personal news shakes her up, making her wonder if she’s losing one of her best friends. And a new man shows up, keeping Agatha on her toes.

Between the shake-ups in her personal life, the effort that she puts in to save the life of a donkey, and her investigation heating up, Agatha Raisin is once again up to her elbows in drama, designer clothes, and danger. But does she have what it takes to find out who’s behind the industrial sabotage before the entire job blows up in her face?

M.C. Beaton’s 30th (30th!!) Agatha Raisin novel, Beating About the Bush, is yet another delightful romp through the Cotswolds. Being a fan of this series, reading a new Agatha book is like getting to spend time with a good friend again. If you haven’t yet met Agatha, you should. And if you know her already from her books or the television series based on the books, settle in for another amazing adventure with Agatha!

Galleys for Beating About the Bush were provided by Minotaur Books through Edelweiss, with many thanks.
