1. Something happened to me last week. I'm not sure when exactly or why or how, but it was like a great weight fell from my shoulders. It was a rough week at work, and I was very stressed. But there was a point where I realized that none of it really mattered. All the petty things that I spend so much time and energy worrying about, they just didn't matter anymore. And they don't matter, not in the grand scheme of things. What really matters is my family, our health and our love and the time we get to spend together. The rest is just dust in the wind. I hope to continue to remember this moving forward.
2. Tea. It's a simple thing, really. But tea. I love the flavor and the aroma and the way it helps me center myself in difficult moments. As it's August, I drink iced tea. Soon I'll switch back to hot tea. It doesn't really matter. It just makes me happy.
3. Melon. Watermelon, cantaloupe, honeydew. I love it all. The sweetness, the juiciness, the scent. I love it any time of day, any day of the week. I don't buy it and eat it as much as I should, as much as I would like. I say this as we're coming to the end of the melon season for the year. Melon is amazing, and I am grateful for the experience of eating it, of enjoying it during the season and missing it in the winter. It's a small thing, but it makes life good.
