What a busy week! It kind of exploded with family stuff and work stuff, so all I could accomplish was 3 audio books. They were enjoyable. But had wanted to get more done. But this week is going to be another busy one at work, and after a weekend of not doing much, I’m still run down. So I’m not sure how many books I’ll get read this week. But it is my safe place, so I will try.

That being said, this Tuesday is the release day for the new Katherine Center, The Rom-Commers, and you won’t want to miss it. It will be lots of fun! In this one, a rom com screenwriter is teamed up with her favorite writer of adventure movies to help him with his new rom com script. But it’s done with Center’s wit and grace, her thoughtfulness and insight, so it will be no ordinary rom com. This is definitely one to add to your summer reading list.

currently reading: I’m really enjoying Dead Tired (ya, partly because of the title. It resonates with me right now). It’s the follow up to The Expectant Detectives, which I loved. This one is just as fun, and I am hooked on Kat Ailes’ amateur detective series. I would say that I look forward to more, but I haven’t finished enjoying this one yet, so I’ll wait and say that a few weeks from now, when I’m ready for a third. In this one, Alice and her new mommy friends get involved with a group protesting an energy company wanting to put a wind farm in a local green space they all use. There are babies and dogs to juggle, and friendships to coddle, as the friends take sides and try to catch a killer. I really love Alice and her friends. These books are a lot of fun, filled with laughs and snacks and warmth. Highly recommended.

up next: out June 18 is The Memo, and this one is going to be big. Jenny Green is in her mid-thirties and is struggling. She feels like everyone got the memo about how to be successful except her. And then she goes to her college reunion and finds out that others did get a memo. And now it’s her turn. But what happens when her life turns upside down? Watch for this one in your favorite independent bookstores soon!
