This is another crazy week for me, but I will do my best to talk books. Last week, we had to move my mother into long-term care, so it’s been a whirlwind of details to juggle. But reading helps keep me sane, so I’m still trying to get some done. But if I don’t get many reviews done this week, which is possible, I apologize and plan on spending March relaxing and catching my breath after a hectic couple of months. My plan then is to curl up on the sofa and read as much as I can. It sounds amazing right now.

Anyway, I am doing a little reading. Out this week, new Sara Shepherd, Nowhere Like Home. A woman, unhappy with her life, follows an old friend to an isolated community where women support each other as they raise their children. I’m not far enough in yet to know what’s really going on there, but it can’t really be all sweetness and light, right? Ya, I’m sure I’m right. But I have to keep reading to find out what that it.

Also out this week, new Ellie Alexander. It’s time to go back to Ashland, Oregon to hang out with Jules, her family and friends, and all the deliciousness at their bakeshop Torte. In this one, there is even more family and lots of snow, lots of fun, and a little murder. Fans of Jules and those mouth-watering descriptions of food will want to grab your favorite pastry to curl up with this one Tuesday.

Last week I was ordering from Amazon, and I checked my lists to see if anything struck my fancy to add to the cart. And on my list, I found this beauty. I meant to get it late last year, for Christmas obvi, but things got crazy and I forgot. So I snagged it last week. I’ll have to read it soon to see how they paid homage to Dr. Seuss and the Grinch.
