just finished: Deja Brew. It’s a fall rom com about a kitchen witch and a magician. I wasn’t quite sure what to expect when I started it, but it’s very sweet. Lots of magic, some spice, a little time travel, and really likable characters.

currently reading: I started Rivals by Jilly Cooper, and I am sucked into this story. There is so much drama and so much fun. There is television. There is politics. There is sex. There is envy. And it is smoothly written. If you miss the shoulder-pad dramas of the 1980s and 1990s, then you’ll want to pick up this book and dive in.

I’m also reading The Spamalot Diaries by Eric Idle. It’s his literal diary from when they were first putting together the musical Spamalot, so it has a lot of interesting background information about the musical and about how Idle spent his days and nights in New York at that time. Mike Nichols directed, and I adore him, so I’m loving all the scenes he’s in. This one came out a couple of weeks ago, and if you’re a theater nerd and/or Python nerd, then you’ll find stories that will delight you.

up next: Martha, Martha, Martha! Martha: The Cookbook has 100 of her favorite recipes plus stories from all her years entertaining. This one comes out November, and I would just like to point out that there is a recipe in there for turkey. So if you’re looking to Martha your Thanksgiving celebration, then you may want to pre-order this one to get some delicious ideas for that turkey holiday.
