just finished: Are You There God? It’s Me, Margaret. I was reading on my Kindle app earlier, and I had a notification about reading badges. Along with the ones I had achieved were a couple I hadn’t. One was for sci-fi/fantasy, but I am just not feeling that these days. And there was one for books that have been made into movies. Are You There God? was the first title that popped up, and it reminded me that I had been wanting to read it again. Well, I had bought it previously, so I pulled it right up. I started it, planning on reading a little and maybe some more later this week. But no. I didn’t read it straight through, but I did finish it early this afternoon. It’s still amazing and something every preteen girl should read at least once.

currently reading: I’m still working on Paul Rudnick’s Farrell Covington and the Limits of Style. This book is packed with humor and heart, and I am reminded of all the reasons I first fell in love with Paul Rudnick and his writing back in the ‘90s. Also, I stumbled on his Twitter account this weekend, and it’s hysterical. It’s political, so don’t go look him up if you’re overly passionate about current politics, but if you’re looking for someone to mock the GOP even better than you can, give him a look.

I’m also reading The Woman Inside by M.T. Edvardsson, the Swedish author who brought us A Nearly Normal Family, which I loved. I’m still trying to figure out how all the characters come together, but I think this is going to be an amazing ride.

up next: later this month there are some great cozy mysteries coming out. Fatal Fudge Swirl by Meri Allen, Misfortune Cookie by Vivien Chien, and Hiss Me Deadly by Miranda James. So much murder, just waiting for me, waiting for us all. What a summer!
