currently reading: I am reading the new Agatha Raisin, Devil’s Delight, which comes out Tuesday. Loving it! Although honestly, it doesn’t take much for me to love a new Agatha Raisin book. But in this one, Agatha and her assistant Toni immediately run into a man who is a naturist. In America, we call them nudists. And when Agatha follows him back to where he said there had been a crime committed, she finds herself in a big group of naturists. And that is just the first chapter. Loving it!

I’m also reading a rom com called To Get to the Other Side. Trixie works at an animal shelter, and she ends up chasing a bedraggled chicken across the road, blocking traffic. When a handsome stranger helps her out, keeping the other drivers in line, she is grateful. And she doesn’t even think to get his name or number until she’s left, taking the poor chicken to a vet. The shelter where she works doesn’t home chickens, even temporarily, so she sneaks the chicken into her pet-free apartment until she can find a home for it. But when her landlord finds out about the chicken, Trixie decides that she wants to keep her chicken and find herself a new home. She checks out an ad for a room that’s been getting a lot of attention online, and finds herself face-to-face with the handsome stranger who had helped her before. But helping Trixie with a couple of angry drivers is one thing. Letting her and the chicken move into his house is entirely different. But can they make it work anyway, and create a loving home for poor abandoned ChickChick? This one is sweet and so much fun.

I’m also listening to Lark, the Herald Angels Sing, a Christmas cozy from Donna Andrews. I didn’t read this one when it first came out, so I’m getting a chance to enjoy it now. When the rehearsal for the Christmas pageant at the church turns up an extra infant to play the baby Jesus, Meg has to jump in and try to figure out whose child is this and why it’s away in their manger. I’m a huge fan of Meg and her family, so I grabbed this one to listen to when work last week got way too stressful. And it does not disappoint. It’s just what I needed.

up next: I won this one in a Goodreads giveaway, and I’m so excited to read it for next year. I’ve been wanting to read Cathleen Schine for a while, and this is the perfect place to jump in. This month will be pretty crazy, I’m sure, but I am hoping that January will have fewer deadlines and let me just stay home and read. I want a Stay Home and Read January. That sounds like heaven!
