just finished: nothing new. That was a rough week!
currently reading: I’m about a third of the way through The Half-Sister right now, so I know the basic characters and the broad picture of what is going on, but I haven’t gotten to all the twistiness yet, which I am eagerly awaiting. What is a good summer thriller without lots of twists? Because of the stress at work, I’ve been listening to episodes of the Dateline podcast, which is basically just the audio track, making me feel like I’m working with the tv on in the background, but I also started a new audio book of a book in one of my favorite YA series. The first book in the Georgia Nicolson series is Angus, Thongs, and Full-Frontal Snogging. I’m currently listening to book 6 of 10, Then He Ate My Boy Entrancers (boy entrancers = fake eyelashes). If you consider picking one of these books up, you need to realize that they’re in a completely different language (that of British teenage girl). But I adore these books for a quick vacation from reality, and they never disappoint. I don’t have them all on audio, but when I saw this on Audible, I had to have it because it is one of the few that are read by the author. Louise Rennison herself narrated this, in the original voice of Georgia, and it is beyond fabby-fab! I wish she’d had a chance to narrate them all.
Up next: there are a lot of amazing books coming out over the next few weeks, it being the first big rush of summer reading. So I don’t know exactly what I’ll pick next, but it could be The Girl from Widow Hills, The Swap, Head Over Heels, The Lion’s Den, The Finders, The Dilemma, or even I Was Told It Would Get Easier. There are so many options! And I am so excited about that because I will be needing some good escapes over the next few weeks! That work stress doesn’t seem to be going anywhere this month, so I will keep my head buried in books and television fluff like Holey Moley, Worst Cooks, Celebrity Family Feud, and The Real Housewives of New York.
